Updates

So it has been a while since this blog has been updated by me. Mainly because I ran out of time to shout into this void. In the off chance you are reading this, I will provide you an update on how it has been going in the world of running a 1 man survey business.

In one word - BUSY.

There are not enough surveyors out here doing the work, and on top of having new clients come in, clients from months ago have been coming back asking for work. All of this has made for 60-80 hour work weeks, and no time to update my poor, forgotten, and fervent blog readers (I am sure you exist, no matter what everyone says). I started this blog as an SEO operation to drive traffic to this site. Since then, I have found a better way to drive traffic than begging strangers to read my thoughts. The good news is this means I will update this blog with real, useful information (hopefully). The bad (good) news is, I will be posting far less frequently.

Even with the huge workload and the frustrations that come with running a business, I have to say… I love it (so far). I am working hard to make a product that is top notch, and it is very rewarding. I have flexible (yet excessive) hours, and no one to manage beside myself. This has led to one major issue however. I now cannot stop talking to clients, neighbors, strangers, the dogs and cats, myself… I had a client willfully cut me off and get me off the phone the other day. I was both impressed and understanding. I don’t want to be responsible for an employee or two right now, but I am starting to think that employees are for the mental health of the managers. Maybe that is why work from home is being clawed back by management…

I know you are desperately waiting to hear more of these boring blogs… I will try to get another post up within a month to satisfy the void that is the internet.

Because my sign off for these was just SEO Terms for a while, and because I don’t particularly need more calls at the moment (unless you are calling about Construction Survey Monument Preservation ALTA)… I will sign off with: Surveyors Far From Me, I Don’t Need A Survey, Donations for Land Surveyors…
